Since we see Red and Green/Blue older in the seventh game, I would have been cool to see Kanto in "current year". But no, just another "remake".

Gamefreak is too scared to make any real edits to Kanto. Even something as simple as altering the routes and keeping the game otherwise as is would be a step too far for them

Is gamefreak who is scared to make something different with kanto, or the fans who would don't like something different with kanto, if i expand or change some things of the region, like the lore, the cities or the characters, or add some cross gen evolutions, they will appreciate it??

Hard to say, since it's never really been done. The closest you get is the 3 year later stuff for the Johto postgame, but it's harder to gauge that.

Generally speaking, when trying to remaster something in that way, it is important to keep what's good and familiar, expanding upon it, while the more lackluster and forgettable aspects could be better altered.

If the remakes can get away with adding Alolan forms or giving Lorelei more appearances outside of her gym though, I don't see why people would be opposed to change. Especially given the fact there are a dozen different ways for someone to have a bog-standard kanto experience
