>>42265164>>42265183It is an indie game by a single Japanese developer, it's like retro Pokemon but the battle interface is a little more like traditional RPGs like the Mother series, where you fight with three of your party members against three enemy mons for most battles. There is a post-game chapter "Chapter X" with bonus bosses like in classic RPGs.
There are also skill trees that determine attacks learned, and battle items. There is a portable move changer so you can change your party's attacks without going back to a PC. The story and humor are Paper Mario-influenced and the world is a lot darker than modern Pokemon games, like there are a lot of jerks and con artists and deadly situations in the world. You might get EarthBound or Undertale vibes which may not be for you but yeah, it tries to subvert a lot of Pokemon tropes in some ways.
So it is basically Pokemon combined with an indie/classic JRPG.
