That can easily be explained as boney organs. Nobody thinks Narwhals are carrying swords. Rillaboom’s drum is clearly an external object that would have to be crafted.

This. You can remove Rilla’s drum and he’s fine. Looks better even. Still functions, can battle, can survive. Try forcibly pulling out Blastoise’s cannons and see what happens.
