In the anime Galar has Pokemon World Championship which basicaly PWT. The games have nothing like that at all even though the stadiums are a perfect setting for stuff like that.

Even the anime has to make shit up to pretend current main games are cooler than they actually are.

It's not PWT, it's the Champion's League that was first mentioned in DP. Lance (Kanto's Champion) and Leon (Galar's Champion) are battling each other for the title of strongest trainer in the world.
