Dynamax objectively increases the strategic complexity of the game and I'm not sure how you could argue otherwise. And for the first time, turn-negating aspects that were so centralizing before, such as Fake Out and Protect, are no longer as centralizing, and Intimidate was also nerfed hard. I've never had so much fun with the format.
The fact that singles removed Dynamax is more understandable but kind of a shame, because the theoretical complexity of the game has gone back to being far less than in VGC (altho in practice Dynamax could make singles subjectively less interesting because it came down to single-turn predictions and sweeps), and just generally I find the format monotonous and boring now. We need a new mechanic that places more emphasis on increasing player options without being too unbalanced.
