>>42275913>This wasn't really a Pokemon thing, SMT & Dragon Quest had that before PokemonHello, I'm someone who's actually played DQM games. Your comparison flat out DOESN'T WORK because the way Dragon Quest games - not just the Monsters spinoff series, but the entire franchise - handles elemental attributes, and by extension, resistances, is completely different. There is no "Fire-type," for example; instead, there are Fire elemental spells (Frizz), and then various monsters may have varying levels of resistance on an individual basis. In the Monsters games in particular, monsters are grouped by "Families;" while individuals within a given Family may share certain trends - such as Beasts having tolerance to Fire/Frizz skills while being weak to Ice/Crack skills - this is not a hard set rule, and exceptions exist.
Now, let's look at TemTem:
>>42276385>Fire-type>Water-type>Nature-type, which let's be honest is just renamed Grass>Electric-type>Earth-type, which again is just renamed Ground or Rock>Mental-type, which is literally Psychic>Wind-type, which along with Crystal is the only unique thing they have>Digital-type, which is renamed Steel>Melee-type, which is blatantly just Fighting>Toxic-type, which is renamed Poison
