I can understand those that think that catching em all is the true goal. Really, I do. I was once one of them. But that isn't what really matters, is it? Because of all of those Pokémon you've caught, how many will you train? How many will you use? They're collectibles to you, and nothing more. The Pokedex means nothing if you don't care for the Pokémon that you've captured. What matters is how you use that collection; to become the very best like no one ever was, or just to show off?

I didn't have bulbapedia or smogon back then. Now that everybody knows all the base stats movesets and else you only fill the dex for the sake of completion.

Forgot this in my original post,
I'm trying to get the energy up to complete the dex I was working on in Crystal.
I'm very close to defeating it and I was roleplaying an OC of mine doing it cause he's growing into a jr pokemon researcher.
