Solar Beam is literally just Hyper Beam but like, solar-powered. Makes sense for Fire types to learn it for coverage.

It wouldn't be that much of a big deal if more effort was put into ensuring pokemon movepools in general were more diverse and tactically deep, like 70% of fully evolved pokemon are overtly filler garbage and very little effort has been made to redeem them with new moves/abilities/stat buffs that literally any other game company with even a passing interest in competitive play would make between iterations.

The cull this generation wouldn't have been so bad if an effort was made in this regard at least to appease the fans.
