Poison-type was super dominate in Gen 1, Venusaur, Nidos, Beedrill, Venomoth, Golbat, Arbok, Weezing, there wasn’t a lack of Poison-types.

Sheer Force makes him decent for UU at least, and he's still the god of Kanto Speedruns thanks to its godly movepool and access to it early game. It's a decent mixed attacker as a result and it's not terribly slow for UU either. Nidoqueen isn't quite as good but it's still perfectly usable.

They seemed a bit shilled during Gen 1. At least with the anime being a thing. I remember Gary showing up with a Nidoqueen at one point, and then Nidoking appearing in a few other episodes as well.

God I wish they stayed popular.

I do wish that there were some better physical moves that benefited from Sheer Force. It sucks that he has to use his weaker attacking stat.

Look, this is /vp/, it's best to assume everyone is a gay furry until proven otherwise. All I'm saying is people have an idea of how tall some Pokemon should be when it's actually very wrong. Did you know Electabuzz is shorter than Smeargle, for example? If you like kinda doofy sort kaiju rabbits that's fine, I like Typhlosion who is about as doofy if I'm being honest.

Yeah honestly with the stat changes they gave it (+10 Attack right?) they really should have given it a good Ground type move with a SF trigger to compliment it (it has Poison Jab, Superpower, Rock Slide and various punches so its coverage is okay physically). At least before the buff it could run physical, mixed, or special pretty equally but when there's a 17 point difference between Attack and Special Attack it sucks when the Special set is better.

Only gained 10 Atk, which is useless for Nidoking, who does best as a special sweeper. Should have given the buff to its speed.

Still would've been outpaced by a lot of threats, but would've made it more competitive. No need for any boost to its Atk or SpA with how hard Sheer Force @ Life Orb hits.
