DLC is a good idea. The problem is that the game costs too much and the DLC also costs too much. I appreciate that you can get the added Pokémon with a free update though. I wonder how they'll add the missing 200 or so Pokémon now. They're not just going to leave them out, right? Not when they could just ask for 30 more dollars (which I'm not giving them)

No according to /vp/ USUM was a lazy rehash while Japanese Blue, Yellow, Crystal, Emerald and Platinum were all worth buying the same game again

wut? When did /vp/ shat over 3rd versions ever? Everyone gobbled over Crystal, Platinum and B2W2 version's dicks. I'm not against the DLC, but I was trully hoping for a 3rd version that was gonna fix all of the weird bugs and the boring visuals. Crown and Armor are just not gonna cut it.

In the case only one person buys the DLC or Home, it is free to me and anyone else who gets in contact with this person or someone who already got in contact with this person.

By that logic no Pokémon has ever been free. At least one person had to buy FRLG to get Kanto Pokémon in RSE for example. My real concern with the Switch is Home being a garbage service (just like Bank), paid online (which shouldn't be paid at all) and games/DLC that cost way too much.

To be fair, a majority of Switch games are 60 dollars. So it common sense Pokemon would be too. If it was on 3ds, then sure. It would be 40 dollars. But it not. It 60.

Anyway, 30 dollars is cheap if people actually considered what would happened if there a "Definitive version"

Also, this would fuck over the people who would skip the original game but reward the people who purchase the original game. So people who skip for definitive version can get BTFO.

They're probably going to release a deluxe edition with all the DLC for $60 later on though, so you're still going to get punished for being a mindless conSOOMER. If not, you can always emulate the game FOR FREE flawlessly with all the DLC content in a year.

The way I see it is this: if we don't stand up to this bullshit NOW, it'll only get much worse in future gens going forward. Soon, you'll be seeing microtransactions, lootboxes, gachashit, and other scummy practices in the main games, and only then you'll wish that you had prevented this escalation from happening a long time along. We've failed with Dexit, but we can still change things before it gets worse. It's only a matter of time.

They won't though, Gamefreak will release a definitive version of Sword and Shield by holiday 2020 because Nintendo will want shit to move more Switch units. TPC will want definitive versions to get more money.

I mean, it is something that dexit people wanted. In fact, I wanted all the pokemon back. 200+ pokemon isn't a bad deal. If they make another expansion pass, then it has the potential to bring back the rest of the pokemon.

Maybe a Mega Expansion where we will fight on a Mega Island with new Mega Pokemon in tow. Then another expansion where Z move will be back where we can battle with Z move which will probably be bundle with Mega.

Tell me this wouldn't be something people would want, cuz I want this. I want my mega pokemon back.

I think it's either this, or the Diamond and Pearl remake + SS update.
Or maybe they release the remake, but it's still missing some Pokémon so they'll release a remake DLC (Platinum/Giratina stuff?) and a free update for both games.

Maybe at that point this generation will meet the low expectations I had for it and I'll enjoy pirating it.

This is better than paying $120 but given the quality of base SwSh, I feel like this is still the short end of the stick. All we can hope for is that the DLCs are good enough to warrant the $90 price.

They were like "We can't put 3D models of so many pokemon in a game of this size anymore, at best we can do 400" and also "We prefer not to do DLC" and now they just put this out.
Although I'm inclined to believe it's mostly Ohmori that's doing this.
This and the whole "The Battle Frontier Project has started!" thing has made me dislike Ohmori

I would also expect them to remove Pokémon from the start of the next "generation" so that they can sell them as DLC again.
