Let's have a Mystery Dungeon general for today.
What are your thoughts on the new game? I'm personally excited and like the storybook aesthetic.
Are you playing through a PMD game right now or curious about starting one?
This question's unrelated but I'm curious, if you'd like to share, what are your thoughts on the SW/SH expansion?
and finally back on topic, what are some good memories you have of the Mystery Dungeon series?

I'm really excited, and I like how bright the colors are. My team is Cyndaquil (Main) and Mudkip and we're Team Skywalker.

I remember crying at the end of the first game when I played through it, broke my heart that I had to go (I think I was a cubone?) so I'm really pumped for the game.

In terms of the Sw/Sh expansion, I'm tentatively okay with it. I appreciate that they're not shitting out a third version of the same game plus a little for 60, and I hope that they can continue to put out more expansions for the remaining pokemon. My guess is that they'll do 1-2 more expansions after this one to add in the remaining pokemon while working on the next main games, as well as the D&P remakes.

also apparently once you unlock mt. steel you also get a tunnel that connects pelipper office and your base
honestly rescue team needed a remake because compared to explorers, it plays awkwardly
inventory that never grows
recruiting shenanigans
you cannot actually bring fourth pokemon in even though game allows you to add it from friend area, it's for in-dungeon-only
luminous cavern allows to evolve only one mon at once
probably few other things I forgot

I wish we were getting a new game instead of a remake. It seems to be a trend lately; fans cry for a new game in the series, and developers release a remake to test the waters for a new game that ultimately doesn't do super well because most people have already played it.

The expansion pass is a whole different story, though. Had SwSh been somewhat complete games with more polish to them, I would've been fine with them. But alas, that isn't the case. The game still has awful textures, terrible animations, intrusive cutscenes for a slog of a "story" and much more that I don't want to waste time ranting about outside of the obvious stuff.

The best they can do is give it R/B's remake treatment. There's no way in 7 universes they can top Sky's story. That's like asking for disappointment.
On the flipside, this is a fucking disaster because you'll never experience a PMD greater than Sky.
