But do remember that content programmed into the cartridge is locked off unless you have another game of the opposite version. That also includes Mew for the Poké Ball Plus.

It has exclusives for sword and shield, so you need to buy two copies of the expansion pass. It costs $180 to buy the two games in gen 8 to complete the dex.

For comparison, it only took $160 to buy the four games to complete the gen 6 dex.
