There are two, probably very common, scenarios were I bet kids got screwed over
>Only owned a Wii but wanted to play Pokémon>Owned both but weren't allowed many games, so kids and parents would probably choose the console game as they'd expect the game to be bigger than what you'd find on a handheldBasically they exploited people that didn't know a lot about Pokémon and assumed a full priced game wouldn't need expensive peripherals to be enjoyable
