Its far beyond my understanding how nobody notices that all three of these have dark pokemon attributes in their designs.
All of them are dark and evil looking.
and "dark/black" is literally the second primary color in each of those three birds

most of classic dark pokemon have ONE MAIN THING common in their designs
- their body usually made of dark/black matter with some design bits slapped on them

basically all of these three birds have BLACK BODY as a primary color with colored design (secondary color-their typing) slapped on them

Imagine every bird without wings or tails.
you will have a chicken made of black. black skin/black body.

Articuno is a black bird with blue/purple feathers
Zapdos is a black bird with brown/yellow feathers
Moltres is a black bird with red fiery feathers

all three of them are dark pokemon.

We could give Zapdos Electric Surge as an ability. It would be on the ground now without its flying type.

Electric Terrain: Increases the power of Electric-type moves used by Pokémon on the ground by 50%. Prevents Pokémon on the ground from falling asleep and being afflicted by Yawn.

Im wondering what makes them change form in galar? i thought region exclusive pokemons became the way they are due to their habitat evolving them to develope traits that fit the environment, but these are mythicals and as far as i know there are only one of each in existence that dont breed unless dynamax energy forces them to change form.

the color scheme, the fact that it doesn't fly, AND the fact that its based on a roadrunner, which live in the desert. Plus they already did the "We took away this pokemon's flying and made a regional variant where it was fighting instead" thing with Farfetch'd

No, they're meant to reference the GO leaders. They have similar color schemes and themes.

Articuno = Team Mystic. Emphasis on mental/magic abilities. Possible psychic or fairy type. High SpA.

Zapdos = Team Instinct. Emphasis on quick, instinctive decisions. Possible fighting type. High speed.

Moltres = Team Valor. Emphasis on its aggressive nature. Possible dark type. High attack.
