I just miss being excited about pokemon, boys. Remember when we were 12 and playing a new pokemon game was an EVENT? I stayed up way past my bedtime playing under the covers and would only stop when I felt I was gonna pass out. I'd wake up, scarf down my breakfast, then try to get a few minutes of playtime in before school. I'd be sitting in class daydreaming about what pokemon I was gonna find when I got home, what secret area I was gonna find to tell all my friends about.
Now? Now I didn't even buy the most recent game. Maybe it was the bad business practices, maybe it was the cut features, or maybe it was just my big boy depression, but these new games just don't get me excited at all. And yeah, obviously childhood wonder played a part, but even Sun and Moon got me hyped a few years back (even though those games were far from perfect). I dunno. It could also be that I never noticed how bad the fanbase was. On one side, a teeny tiny group of people sent death threats to the devs. Thats fucked up? But then on the opposite end, those defending the game used that tiny minority to attack anyone criticizing the game, and that's also fucking annoying.
I dunno, I dunno, I dunno. What do y'all think? Does pokemon even get you excited anymore or are you just a casual fan whose expectations haven't been met for awhile?
