Just finished sword and shield and feel empty inside. Is it worth playing this afterward?

ORAS is a very solid single player experience. The guy in charge of the remakes got his start from working on RSE, so there's a lot of love in the game.

This is Blitzle. It's electric and cute. Through a number of ORAS's Mirage Spots I can obtain a Zebstrika and thus ultimately a Blitzle. I cannot do this in SwShyswoo, therefore ORAS are the superior games. You also get a Mythical at the end, which you so far don't in SwSh unless you go out and buy it.

If you compare it to HgSs it doesn't hold up and if you compare it to Emerald it doesn't hold up but it's the best of nu-pokemon. They atleast managed to make contests less boring and sneaking is fun.

ORAS is a lot better than SwSh, and it's still a Hoenn game so it's good. Emerald is probably a better game, but ORAS is still solid and has some interesting new stuff. And phys/spec split so there aren't a bunch of completely useless mons fucked over by their typing.
Go for it.

Soaring is a neat gimmick and they actually improved secret bases which is nice. They dumbed down certain areas (New Mauville) and changed other areas arguably for the better (abandoned ship). You get a free legendary after just a couple badges and the cutscenes are annoying, overall the game is easier than the originals. The end of the delta episode is cool though.
