On one hand I like it because it means I don't have to play through virtually the same game twice. On the other hand I don't like it because I doubt my playthrough of the game will be fresh in my memory once the DLC releases by the end of the year.

If there was more DLC past this why wouldn't they have announced it as a 2021 release? Makes more sense than announcing it down the line when the SWSH hype and public interest has died down.

WEW you've gotta be trolling. With inflation SWSH will cost $120 in 10 years, meanwhile Platinum and D/P cost like $5 each used now. You're still paying 10 (TEN) dollars more for an incomplete game on a home console which is far more powerful vs buying two, as opposed to just buying Platinum.

They're going to do this again next year, aren't they?

They'll make every pokemon obtainable between Sword and Shield with the expansions, but people who didn't buy the DLC would have to transfer their old pokemon using Home, still netting GF that sweet sweet cash.
