reminds me of when i wanted to make romhacks and thought up a darkness weather move

The only thing holding Ghost back is its low-powered moves and having absolute shit physical options. If Ghost got its own version of draco meteor or flare blitz/outrage, it would become the new gen 4/5 Dragon.

Maybe if you're a casual who uses golurk competitively, you'd think ghost type is under-powered. Ghost typing is easily top 5 offensive typings in the game, only being resisted by dark and immune to normal. Ghost types always have a seat at the top of their respective metas as offensive wallbreakers; this gen having Dragapult, Gengar, Polteageist,Chandelure, Aegislash.

Outside of offensive capability, one of the best walls in the meta atm is galarian corsola. The thing never dies unless you get knocked off, taunted, badly poisoned, or you make a misplay.

I'll acknowledge that ghost types lack a good physical offensive move pool which limits viable movesets, but I'd argue that its more true the lack of speed physical ghost types have hinder them more then a lack of a physical movepool. Golurk, Trevenant, Dusknoir, Dhelmise, Decidueye. Give any of those mons base 110 speed and they'd be threats.

Ghost needs more moves that set up interesting strategies and play-styles. Having a terrain that impose a boost to ghost moves' priority, subject all non-ghosts to a 1/16th damage drain, and prevent healing would be enough for me. I enjoy setting up a strategy so much more than pressing shadowball over and over again.

Oh and for what its worth, keen eye prevents the accuracy decrease. I know its passive and wouldn't work that way by RAW but the decrease is *because* the pokemon can't see in the dark so keen eye would be fine.

Ghost type really needs some interesting moves.
Imagine move that:
Swaps types of the user and target
Drains health slowly like leechseed, but its stays on field
An attacking move that deals damage equeal target speed. It has priority
A move that paralyzes every pokemon on field besides ghost, dark and psychic
A new spiritomb move when it always deals 108 damage (learns in on level 18)
DUsknoir move that traps all pokemon on field when used including dusknoir
Banette move that deals huge damage if opponent was cursed before (works with prankster)
