Monsters can have different shapes and forms. Intelleon just happens to be a bipedal lizard plus he's a 3rd stage evolution which means that he used to be animalistic and evolved into a more bipedal being.

I don't hate humanoid mons. I hate "character" mons, where the design feels more like an NPC than a species. Would I say Cubone and Mimikyu are humanoid? Of course not. Do I hate them for being completely nonsensical, worldbreaking designs? Absolutely.

Agreed. It's been clear since Gen 6 that Gamefreak has been more interested in making the starters' evo characters over being actual monsters.

it's more of how organically they do it. Scrafty is based on punks and thugs but they made it seem more natural with the mowhawk crest and shed skin vs. inteleon who just has pants without an attempt to handwave.Also before you bring up machoke it started humanoid unlike sobble
