I dont mind legendaries as long as there's some reason for them to be legendary beyond just being rare. This is why I despise shit like the birds, heatran, zeraora, and urushifu

Alola introduced too many legendaries, but has a sufficient amount of legendaries to use and create postgame content with.
Galar did not introduce too many and this is fine, but it has literally no other legendaries so there isn't really anything to do regarding them. It's basically just two incredibly mediocre boss battles, one of which is on autoplay.

If you had to actually explore and put in some work to find the legends I wouldn't mind there being so few, unfortunately the 3 legends we got were all forced into the plot so it's shit. It seems like they might have the right idea with these DLC packs (at the very least more interesting than handing you mythicals in the Pokemon center), but then they're also putting it behind a paywall in the first place and the new mythicals look like hot garbage. So one step forward, two steps back.

Depends on how much space they take from the dex. I always felt like gen3 did it best, with every legendary having its own story and gimmick. Gen4 did it good too but some of them were too shoehorned in and just not that memorable, like Heatran.

The games classify Legendary in three groups:

Mythical (event-only Legendary, though Deoxys kinda broke that in Delta Episode)
Special (Includes all Legendary box mascots. Mewtwo and the entire Cosmog line are here too. They're usually banned in official tournaments and battle facilities)
"non-Special" (don't really have a specific term; it's just all the other Legendary like most of the trios, Lati@s, Silvally, and all the Ultra Beasts. They're usually allowed in official tournaments and battle facilities).

With the scope Gen 3 and onwards set for Legendaries, they do feel sort of underwhelming. But I think they maintain the original spirit of Legendary Pokémon being "rare" rather than godlike deities.
