I'd probably not even challenge gyms and simply do my job as a pharmacist (or herbalist in the pokemon world) so Id work in a pokemart or something I guess.
Swinub is smaller and easier to take care off and feed, his sense of smell would make it easy to sniff and gather rare ingredients. Once and if it evolves once, it can provide warmth in cold weathers.
Gloom would need a stone to evolve at some point which could be rare or pricy. Its sweet drool makes up for a good ingredient that Vileplumes couldn't produce, perfect to give potions some consistency and to sweeten them too. (also his foul smell would be good to keep threats away)
Chimecho because I love music and could play music with it, plus weak psychic abilities still do wonders at helping on your daily activites, it'd be a good pokemon to have around signaling when costumers enter.
I played since RBY but altaria was the first I ever got to 100 so Id love to catch one. Lumineon was the first ever trade I got online from a dear friend, plus its a fish, I love fishes, Misdreavus simply is one of my fave ghost pokemon and a prankster, plus I think it's important to have a ghost partner, they add a whole dimension that's different simply because they're ghosts! Besides, it would be more active at night where it would help scare would be burglars away.
