>>42383111>It is less about body shape and more about specifically mimicking human activities and characteristicsBad post, this is clearly bullshit. It's the fursuiting that people find offensive, whether on Pokemon or actual furries. The "human activities and characteristics" are lauded as adding 'character' and 'theme' as much as they're criticised.
As you noted, many Pokemon in the OP have 'jobs', but nowhere is there a fursuit (except Mewtwo). Look at the body shapes and proportions, the dumpy 'blob' torso and often short, robust legs. Note that every pictured mon except Mewtwo lacks obvious human spinal curvature. These are the characteristics of animals standing bipedally, not of the far more humanoid 'furry OC' character style that plagues the internet. Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee and to a lesser extent Machamp have lost all animal references altogether, and present as the 'job' without the 'fursuit', hence their incomparably human designs. The complaint against nu-gen mons actually is more about body shape, and less about mimicking human activities and characteristics.
Of course gen 1 designs aren't immune from the 'fursuiter with a job' criticism, and aside from Mewtwo (being a NEET isn't a job), Alakazam, Kadabra, Hypno and Machoke all noticeably conform to the trend. The thing that differentiates them from nu-gen designs is the extent to which their designs are influenced by anthro 'art' (ie. porn). That's what people are seeing in the nu-gen mons, and that's what they don't like.
