Scorbunny is the canon starter. Gets two sig moves like Greninja and Incineroar, and its own ability (even if it's just renamed).

Also that makes Hop have the monkey and Leon the lizard, which fits each of them better.

As much as I'd rather pick Grookey as the starter, Leon is definitely not having two Fire types on his canon team. Victor's starter is either Scorbunny or Sobble.

If I'm honest, starter for either gender should be Scorbunny since Leon will pick Mr. Rime in his team and it made his team half of Gen 8 mons. I think Grookey work well for Hop. Also it's fitting for Leon's battle to be challenging, unlike the easy battle if you pick Sobble since a faster water starter with ice-type move pretty much wipe most of his team.
