>>42385161There are three outcomes of the DLC:
1) The DLC basically acts as a fix to the base game, not only giving an ample Post-Game but also adding onto the main story, improving the character development and giving the plot more sense.
2) The DLC adds a decent amount of Post-Game content and on its own is functionally fine but has the unfortunate situation of being attached to SwSh.
3) The DLC is as much of a hack job as SwSh, fucks up in giving the post-game anything meaningful again and the new Raid Dens end up being complete shit.
Given Tani hasn't directed a Pokemon Game before I'd give him the benefit of the doubt and assume the 2nd Option is the most likely, 1st Option is not going to happen even if this was Morimoto or Unno at the helm it's just too much for the DLC to be able to mend, the 3rd Option could happen but at this point it'd just be kicking the games while they're down.
As for the reaction, if it is the 2nd Option then Tani will probably just be ignored by Masuda & Ohmori and end up as another one-off Director. If the 3rd Option then people with sinkholes for brains will use the shittiness of the DLC as "evidence" that the next Ohmori directed games will be good. If by the stars aligning the 1st Option occurs then I still doubt they'd let Tani direct the next game, also while it would be indicative that Tani has potential, it would be more indicative that Tani can work well with DLC and wouldn't be an outright evidence that him producing a main game would be good.
