X and Y were solid, good-not-great, pokemon games that kept the formula from previous titles and showed noticeable improvement in technology over DS games, gave us Amie, Super training, and PSS. Also had a really comfy and beautiful region, fun stuff like skates and trainer customization, and some really great new pokemon. I rate gen 6 above 4 and 2 at least.

ive played xy twice without exp share and you still end up overleveled. maybe if you skipped trainers and use repels everywhere but at that point... whats the point?

xy had some great features that should have been staple a couple that have become staple but are weak on their own which is a shame kalos was a really cool looking place and i loved lots of the music there i wish they had better games

Unironically good games and I always liked them.

the only bad things is that the story is shit (like every pokemon game not named bw and sm) and it's too easy. But I would easily rate it higher than the gen 4 and 5 games this board likes to jerk off.
