So are these the most hated pokemon games aside from LGPE? I've even seen some fags defending XY and SM here, but I don't think anyone would have the audacity to defend these ones unironically, and for good reason. It's weird though since even though it was bad, the aforementioned games are worse. is it really just battle frontier salt?

Yeah but they weren't remaking a game, only to have less stuff in it than the original.
To be a remake that's a straight downgrade from a fucking GBA game is impressive

Say, I love that Secret Bases do what they're supposed and that I can ride my jet dragon now, but I shouldn't have to sacrifice parts of the world map and customary new battle modes for it; I should get ALL of those things, because that's what remakes do.

Yes it doesn’t have a Battle Frontier but at least it does have a post game (unlike XY) and at least it has a National Dex to complete (unlike SMUSUM); and tons of legends to catch

And ORAS shares some, like the free hand outs, but XY was more egregious imo. cutting out a lot of content like dewford cave early, and mauville was a huge downgrade. But it was still the classic gen 3 story, which is still miles better than XY imo.
ORAS is flawed because of the mobile centered focus, XY is flawed because so much had to go into the 3D aspect that everything else suffered.

It seems like GameFreak included lots of small details along the lines of what made HGSS popular, but without following Pokémon or a battle frontier they could never win over the critics. I think they’re fine and actually better than XY as others have said.

I’m actually more annoyed at all the LGPE haters though. As usual it could have had “more,” but it was almost a tic for tac remake of the 1st gen with a few twists. No one promised you any more, what’s the point in *hating* it when there’s nothing to compare it to and it was only meant to be a fizzy drink for the new console players?

Most of the removals outside the battle frontier are not that big a deal and there are more areas in game than the original anyway, plus majorly expanded areas that were “linear” in the originals.

I’ve seen people pissed that you can just walk into the safari zone without paying though because this removing small cash fee in game is “casualizing.”

LGPE isn’t even that bad. It’s a Pokémon GO inspired Kanto remake, nothing more and nothing less. It was never intended to be a full mainline game. Get it used, it’s worth it if you enjoy Pokémon GO and want decent 3D graphics. I think I got Eevee for like $35.

The problem was XY because these games were based on that generation (replacing Battle tower with Kalos shit battle mansion) they suck even when they're almost exactly like R/S but all the shitstorm of the 6th gen and the comparison with the holy grail HG/SS doesn't help Oras.

HG/SS we're awesome because of the platinum base (battle frontier and cool shits)

This is why if they do make Gen 4 remakes, rather than Pearl and Diamond I hope they do Platinum, and maybe a Crystal if they want. Remake the already improved versions not the base games.

Yes you are 100% right BUT the games were being compared to Heartgold and Soulsilver which isn't fair when you consider that one had a third version to line off of in making (for example:HGSS could literally just copy and paste the Platinum battle frontier while ORAS had only the battle maison from XY to copy and paste). That beng said, it was GF's fault for not making a Z verson before the remakes.

Reglardless they are tash games that ruined lore, destroyed designs and removed so many Hoenn features that were based

We already have gen 1 remakes which nullify the need for another while also cutting so many things that pokemon had that were considered basic features (hold items, moves, abilities and addtional mons).

ORAS was the Gen 6 shitstorm. XY's issue was that they were holding crap back for a supposed third version but they jumped into Gen 7 because of the 20th anniversary. ORAS was just a bad remake. And no, I don't believe that third versions should be made, but then again, we got third version times two with Gen 7.
