It's only <6 months OP! That's basically 1/2 of a year and considering we only have what? 48 years left to enjoy Pokémon games before it outlives us I'd say it's ok to wait for the DLC and spend that time realizing how it is inevitable to run away from the minute you will die and what will happen for it to be triggered!

I just now realized that SWSH has zero postgame areas. Even the battle tower is just a repurposed location of a place you go during the main game.

Well since you never played Plat and don't consider Kanto Postgame, then you should know the Battle Frontier from Plat was added to HGSS. It's just north of beach near Olivine.
