It's really strange to me how Psyduck is easily among the most recognizable Pokemon ever thanks to the anime, and allegedly one of Masuda's favorites, yet it and Golduck have received no meaningful attention since inception.

It triggers me way more than it should that PSYduck (or its evo) isn't part psychic even though time and time again its dex entries mention its psychic/odd powers.

They weren't even counterparts in Gen 1. It wasn't until Gen 3 with the remakes that they made them counterparts and even then that seems to be the only game where they're version exclusives to one another.
