In Colosseum you couldn't get Pokemon out without trading the game something, so my old Gamecube memory card probably still has some Pokemon from my first Sapphire save file.

I have my full team from Ruby back when it first released in my Ultra Moon. I also have a shiny Onix and a shiny zubat from random encounters back on Fire Red in 2004.

I have every team I've ever used for ingame playthroughs on my Pokemon Bank account. They're from:
Ruby
Fire Red
Emerald
Heart Gold
Platinum
Black
White 2
X
Omega Ruby
Sun
Ultra Moon

I'm very tempted to put them all on my Shield cart and make them competitively viable since it's way easier to hypertrain this gen, and I can use mints and ability capsules to fix natures/abilities.

I transferred everything I could from gen to gen. Oldest thing I have is some Ruby/Sapphie which are currently in my White Version.

Still have the original save file on my Red Version.

I still have the original kyorge, groudon, and fug from their respective games in the year they came out. I also have my starter venusaur, zapdos, mew, lugia, and attack form deoxys from leaf green.

If I knew where my Red Version cartridge was I'd tell you, probably a starter and probably from ~2004 at the latest, more so stems from just not playing Red (at least on cartridge) ever since FRLG came out.

My original Gold still works just fine. I literally just fired it up after a little over a decade of never playing it. Only thing it made me do was reset the clock.

i have my original pearl file from 2007 and my most recent cartridge crystal file from 06/07 but nothing older. unfortunately i used to restart my older games and play them multiple times, so nothing from the original saves has stuck around

Not including backup files, I have my second starter from when I accidentally overwrote my savefile trying to help a friend get a sceptile, and didn't realize my dad had accidentally made a backup until nearly 10 years later, a Swampert names Squirt, now currently chilling on either my copy of pearl or my copy of white because jesus christ transferring is a pain, and I've never had the need to finish migrating everything.

transfered it through every game since. took pictures with it in usum photo thing using the KAAAANNTOOOOOO background and honestly felt a little emotional

sure, but 1. it requires soldering, which means you can also break shit if you're clumsy or a dumbass. and 2. no matter what your old save would be gone. and since there was no way to transfer from gen 2 to gen3, the first time that battery dies, all those mon are gone. replacing the battery doesn't undo the fact that temporarily there was no save battery, thus losing everything like when your alarm clock or microwave loses power during an outage and you have to re-set it.
