I've only ever encountered a single shiny despite playing since D/P released. It was a Shiny steelix in the wild area a couple weeks ago. Working on hatching a shiny larvitar, but my luck is nonexistent.

This gorgeous son of a bitch. After finishing X I went to check what this Friend Safari thing was all about and the first one I went in, bam! This guy appears. It took me completely by surprise since I didn't go in looking for it or anything. It's so gorgeous imo, I know shiny Gigalith looks even better but since it was my first I'd rather keep it as is.

I’ve never encountered a non-scripted wild shiny before, and I’ve been playing since before agonies we’re a thing. I’ve caught Pokerus like three times though, and the first (and so far only) egg shiny I’ve hatched was a Froakie. It had perfect IVs and a good nature, but it didn’t have Protean so it was basically worthless.

Don't remember the first I caught but the first legit encounter was the drifloon in plat. My retarted ass at the time sometimes screwed around with action replay so when I failed to catch it I didn't react harshly until I got a "wait" feeling and peeked if I had the hack inserted. I did not and then I got pretty pissed.

The latest legit shiny I remember also catching was a pikipek in pokemon sun.

My first random was a Shiny Snorunt in XY in the friend safari. My first random "full odds" was some months later in HeartGold; I've found a Shiny Poliwhirl which almost killed itself. Luckily as of now I've never failed a Shiny. I just hope I didn't jinx it by saying that.

First shiny was a Yungoos in Moon, on the first route. I then promptly got my second shiny, a Magnemite at the trainer school 15 minutes later. Since then I've got two more full odds random encounter shinies, a Foongus in White, and a Skwovet in Sword.

This guy on my friend's ruby, but I was too fetusbrain at that time to get two shinies out of it, so I just ended up with a Ninjask. Transferred the lil guy through Pal Park into my Pearl, traded it to Platinum, then to HGSS to see it walk around, then I poketransfer'd it into Black, nearly lost it in pokebank because I'm a cheapass, and now it's chilling on my Moon waiting for home to come out so I can get it up into Sword. Autism knows no bounds, and of course I named it fucking shiny.

Cryogonal in the Frost Cavern in X. Named it Shiny like a twat. Traded it away for god knows what, this was before I had any thoughts about sentimentality or decided that neat things like my first shiny were probably more important than some random legendary. It's probably the only reason why I remember Cryogonal though, so now I think it's a pretty cool Pokémon. Maybe some day I'll try and get another.
