I think Godzilla is more of a Lugia situation where it is associated with water and lives underwater but isn't actually a water type.
I'd say Dragon/Fighting.

I'm watching all the Godzillas right now, Hedorah is next on my list. Out of the first 10 movies, the only water battle of note is with Ebirah, and yeah he won handily, but eh.

I like Dragon/Fighting for Showa and Heisei Godzilla, and Dragon/Poison for Shin Godzilla.

Ghidorah is unquestionably Dragon/Electric.
Mothra is Bug/Psychic, Fairy doesn't suit the larvae form, and Psychic suits, what with Telepathy, and it pretty much has Lunar Dance/Healing Wish.

part Fighting is pretty neat though, and desu i forgot Psychic existed for a second there, yeah thats definitely better for Mothra

All based but surely Based JJ can get a better ability. Iron Fist? Something related to size changing.

Finally Imma say pic related should be Bug/Ground but have a Nidoking tier movepool with Fire and Electric and Steel attacks.
