>>42445785As someone who bought and enjoyed Sword...
I'm not a huge fan of the series. The last pokemon game I bought was Silver on the GBC, with sporadic emulation in between.
I don't care if someone enjoys or dislikes a game. A guy will enjoy what he wants to enjoy - live and let live. I do still like hearing the "why" on both ends, because I like listening to (and occasionally voicing) the different opinions.
My issue is when people hear nothing but bad things about a game and buy it anyway. Or buy the game, hate it, and don't return it.
The only metrics major game companies truly care about is how many units they're moving, and much money their product is making them. Buying a shit game and leaving an "It was shit, 0/10" review only encourages them to make more of the same, because hey, they made money off of it. Again: if it's making money, in a field that is relatively volatile, with millions of dollars at stake, why would they NOT take the option that gives a consistent dollar? fans be damned.
This is how companies like EA still exist despite basically being universally hated. They still make money, and people still buy their shit. Commerce is a democracy - one where anyone can vote as many times as they like, as long as they spend the money to do so.
tl;dr - The person who liked the game is fine. The person who didn't like and didn't keep the game is fine. The person who bought and hated it, but kept the game, even buying the DLC, is an idiot. You GOTTA vote with your dollar.
