Haven’t watched the new anime yet. Is this character really a he-she? Does it use they/them pronouns? Does such a thing even exist in the Japanese language? Why is it so androgynous? Is it an actual tranny?

Good question. My wild guess is that Pokemon anime got infested by some realy not good people from the west. I remember few months ago some femnazi ex-Pokemon animation worker complaining about how anime is bad and how they should make it more like Captain Marvel and other western shit... maybe they rehired her lol?

Not a tranny and andro looking characters aren't new in Anime so this shouldnt even be a surprise plus the fact that he's suppose to be a 10 year old kid. Had a friend that look liked a girl at that age too. The oddest thing about Gou is that he seems slightly autistic as he's dedicated most of his life to catching Mew that he lacks social skills and unable to understand the emotions of Pokemon and others most of the time.
