>>42476689I do. The first appearance of Dragonite in the anime was a 100 foot gigantic behemoth, cast entirely in shadow, that came from the sea in the lighthouse episode. They didn’t utter its name and described it as legendary. That said, Dragonite *was* pretty much legendary back then. The only Dragon-type, a higher base stat total than any mon not named Mewtwo, a ridiculously wide movepool, it had no real competition yet.
Unrelated: the island of Dragonite thing is a reference to one of its dex entries, which states that somewhere in secret there lies an island in the middle of the ocean where only Dragonite gather.
