>>42477544Honestly the way XY is makes me think they had a game probably twice as large but got fucked over by the stupid release schedule crap and so cut out massive chunks. There is a way bigger story in XY that is never properly developed and stuff like these devices Lysandre has as well as AZ's history and random shit like Clemont's machines, Trevor, Tierno and Shauna's characters, Mega Evolution, the Anistar Crystal, etc. never get the development they really need.
If I hazard a guess, the original idea was that the insects and goggles were meant to allow Lysandre to analyze Pokemon, perhaps to scope out potential for Mega Evolution (think sort of like the Aura Reader in Gale of Darkness). The gauntlet though strikes me more as like an ancient technology given the distinct brass colouration, perhaps it being tied to AZ in some manner given the vaguely flower-like design from the frills.
