So did I, but they really did ramp up the character interaction. This especially made playing through USUM a chore since the NPCs are still just as obnoxious, but the story's worse.
Not sure what "awful multiplayer" means unless it's referring to Festival Plaza.

Gen 7 had great designs, cool looking enviroments for a 3DS game and somewhat cool bosses for a Pokemon game but it was a chore to play, even USUM i regret picking up because it only added more bloat like the Ultra Exposition Squad stopping you every now and then only to say obvious shit

Every gen has good points and bad points. There are no perfect pokemon games. SWSH is only notable because it removed a lot of content, very very publicly, and what was added in it's place didn't make up for what was removed in the slightest. Max raid battles are boring, G-Max forms are literally the grindiest thing in any mainline pokemon game to actually get, the currydex is pointless, and every positive change amounts to nothing more than minor QoL improvements. There's also the issue of GF acting passive agressively to their older fans and creating a scism in the fanbase.

I like a lot of the new pokemon, I like a lot of the new characters, I like the music in general (even the gym theme wich is pretty divisive), but it's the pokemon game with the least amount of replay value of all time.

5/10 I found enjoyment in it but mostly I am deeply disappointed.

Sun and Moon are the only games from the 3D era that I thoroughly enjoyed. They have major issues but it felt like there was a fair amount of effort put into them, they felt fresh and inspired.

Platinum didn't had many new features or parts of the map that weren't in DP already, only a few bonuses like the Battle Frontier, most of the work was technical stuff like polishing the graphics and the slow engine.

I enjoyed Sun and Moon. The first island felt pretty handsholdy which is the only part I hated but the cast is memorable as a whole and not in a bad way. Hau shows how he already surpasses Hala just by being a kind caring person, Gladion's edge hides that loving person he is for his Pokemon and wanting to grow strong with them, Guzma is YA BOI, and Lillie grows so much from the beginning.

Honestly, when I think about it the only thing that truly brought it down was Lillie, and even then her story is better than any of the Gen 8 characters.

No it doesn't, there's a huge difference between an expansion like Blood&Wine for W3 and the expansions for SWSH, one adds even more content to an already huge game.
Galar is small and barebones, over like 60% of the map is left unused and coincidently on the official artwork you can see the accessible beach to tbe side of the Wild area but in the game is blocked off by mountains

The dialogue on the games is too slow even when set to fast. I'm burnt out from starting new games to get spare legendaries without using cheats. I store them on pokebank. If the shield dlc has some legendaries that were not on omega ruby, y and moon I hope the obtaining methods will be better than ultra warp ride. It would suck if I needed relicantlh and wailord, max evs, max friendship and level 100 pokemon again just to get legendaries. I don't mind evolving type null.
