Sorry, too much work. Please enjoy the three whole new Pokemon who'll be getting Gigantamaxes, though. Now that I mention it... the entire postgame, Solaceon Ruins, contests and story writing are much too difficult for younger audiences as well. We'll have to cut those and replace the empty space with Pikachus, Charizards and Max Revives.

It's not like the DLC is just adding move tutors and nothing else. It's a legitimate expansion pack.

That other Anon's a retard, but to be fair "DLC Pokemon" already existed in upper versions between holding out on alternate forms, event mythicals that can only be obtained in games outside of where they were introduced and in USUM's case straight up new Pokemon.

why would you want an HP buff for one turn?
If it's absolutely massive then under certain circumstances it could work like a ghetto Focus Sash, but unless the Pokemon is already bulky it's probably not going to save you from a 4x weakness.

people would be more inclined to care if they hadn't lied clear through their teeth about the reason for them not existing in the first place. it couldn't matter how well the delivery was on "giving them back" because they took a hammer to fun's trust on that most basic level just to make themselves not look like total jews by announcing an expansion during or before the game's release

I assumed we were talking about the new legendaries, not the 200 pokemon being patched in for free.
I still don't really care about the cuts, but I agree that they shouldn't have lied about why they were cut. I still genuinely can't figure out WHY they were cut in the first place. Did they add a bunch of new animations for Camp or something?

I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this because I'd think it was really weird if an expansion pack didn't introduce at least a new form.
Plus, since they're now setting the precedent of patching new pokemon into existing games for free, you can just trade for them.

I feel like people are hugely biased against the very idea of DLC because we think it's always going to be Horse Armor, but what we're getting is clearly a genuine expansion pack and I can't be mad about that.

I'm aware this discussion started because of somebody mentioning DLC Pokemon, but it's honestly not the core thing I take issue with - just a byproduct.
I don't like the idea of releasing incomplete games and then releasing them again/adding onto them a year later. An expansion pass to a game that is so barebones that expanding on it will only provide more of the same mediocre content is not appealing in the slightest. What I would have liked and have wanted for a long time is polish. For a Pokemon game to feel complete, to be balanced, to actually have a satisfying campaign. None of these things are being done and the idea of wasting time on an expansion pack over sitting down and making a good game to begin with, that is what I take issue with.

That's fair. I canceled my preorder for Sword after seeing how rough the leak was just before release, and when I finally bought it this month I got it used because I didn't want to support a blatantly-rushed game.
But I'm an optimist at heart, so I'm going to wait until the DLC is out instead of assuming it's going to be just as rushed and unfinished. This is completely virgin territory for the series, after all.
