I like his design, but Rose SCREAMS wasted potential. I could tell where they were going with him being a misguided villain who commits atrocities for the sake of the place he loves, but fucking CHRIST Gamefreak is dogshit at writing characters.

Had he been in the hands of someone more competent, he'd unironically be one of the better Pokemon villains.

It’s sad that Rose is easily the shittiest most underdeveloped antagonist ever to grace a mainline Pokémon game.

Here’s what I think could’ve been done to not make him super shit:
-Show his love for Galar more - he’s rich as fuck but what does he do outside of lining his own pockets? Have the NPCs talk about altruistic shit he does around the region.
-Expand on his sense of urgency. If he really thinks he should start the apocalypse RIGHT FUCKIN NOW, make it because he thinks he’s the most capable person of fixing the future within the next 1000 years.
-Tell us/hint at why he loves Galar so much. What makes this place so special? Give us a little backstory.
-Expand on his relationship with Oleana. He helped her during some point in the past but how does he feel about all the shit she does on her own for his sake? Does he know? Does he care?

Does he really care about other people at all? Or does he like bringing out the talent of others just because it benefits Galar in the long run?

Sun and Moon had a lot of issues, but I felt that the story was a strong suit (despite devaluing replaying the story with long cut scenes). This game had two interesting stories and botched both of them.

I dunno about that. Pokemon's feeling like it's less about the Pokemon and more about the characters. Or less like going on an adventure with your Pokemon, and more like going on an adventure with the human characters, and the Pokemon are just tools for batting.

It really feels that they are putting more of an emphasis on the human characters more and more especially since Ohmori took the helm. ORAS was somewhat of a beta with how they added more stuff to the existing characters. Now where getting games where we’re expected to treat and love the human characters like they’re the deepest well-written characters in history when they are far from it. It even seems like most of the “high quality animations” went to the humans

Rose's power-plant is basically the equivalent of a nuclear plant, right

And it's underneath a stadium that seats at least several thousands, and regularly has earthquakes and billion tons of flaming, screaming Pokemon stomping on the massive fucking cavity they carved into the earth.

This is also the same building that houses priceless artifacts from the regions history

And it's surrounded by what looks to be housing on all sides, on the inaccessible lower levels of the city

I mean what can go fucking wrong

The entire thing was Climate change propaganda(cant tell if pro climate change or anti) However, they really shouldnt have used a thousand years. If it was 50 years It would have been a much greyer scenario where each second potentially counts, but not so pressing that it will take more than a generation to fix .

Bede was just a fall guy to bolster Rose's public image by appearing so generous that he'd even support and endorse a homeless orphan in the regional gym challenge. You really think it was Oleana calling the shots when she asked him to hunt out the Wishing Stars? Bede believes so strongly that he was someone "special" for getting picked, even flashing around his shiny gold watch and exotic clothes just to drive the point home, but the truth is that he was always nothing more than a means to an end. Rose isn't just autistic, he's a fucking snake and even despite that, he's STILL the worst villain in the series to date.
