>>42498824Exactly. You can really tell they thought out how characters and camerawork should move in 3D space, so all the movement feels natural. And rather than directly translate the manga's style to the show, they instead designed a style that looks and moves well in 3D.
With this Pokemon shit, it really looks like they tried a 1:1 conversion to 3D, and then slapped on uncomfortably realistic textures where they shouldn't be. So the situations where they move cartoony come off as really jarring against the realistic lighting and water textures. This is shit I'd expect from a high school student, not a theatrical film featuring the world's most profitable franchise.
