Life Orb is for frail sweepers who don't like to be locked into one move. Its a 30% boost to power in exchange for 10% of your health when you use an attacking move
the downside doesn't affect Sheer Force Pokemon, but only if you use a move that is affected by Sheer Force, so you get the boost but not the drawback if you use something like Flamethrower, but not Earthquake.
