Gen 5 or 6?

I'm having some trouble picking a Pokemon game for the 3DS. I found my old Platinum and White carts and started to play through those, but I want to pick up either X/Y or Sun/Moon.

Which game does /vp/ recommend from the 5th or 6th Gen?

if you want tropical island adventure with a lot of cutscenes and abolished HM slavery, play Sun or Moon. If you want that but slightly harder, play Ultra Sun or Ultra Moon.

If you want a more traditional experience with gyms and the exact same story beats and cliches as you saw in Gen 4, play X or Y first.

Personally if you think you'll eventually want to play both Gen 6 and 7, I'd say play X/Y first to get back into the groove of the series and experience some of the new gameplay changes for the 3DS, then play SM or USUM after.
