this thread just cements my belief that pokemon would be a more enjoyable game to playthrough (and replay through) if the standard was 6 gym leaders instead of 8.
i havent played a pokemon game since i was a kid where gyms 7 and 8 didnt feel monotonous. i also know many people drop pokemon games after 5 badges due to getting bored

I feel if the gyms where like in DP where they used pokemon that aren't of the type but used the gym's move it'd make it more enjoyable. You couldn't just steamroll a gym if they had a counter for multiple sweeper, just let the ace be the gym type.

The entire Kalos Pokemon league was part of Team Flare. At the point of the game where you face him they just want the five brats who ruined their plan to be gone without tipping off the authorities.

At least until the Fire Elite Four member buys the League's innocence to Looker and the International Police by selling out Lysandre and the rest of the non-league Flare members.

Weren't Wallace/Juan and Volkner at least somewhat difficult? Yea they were somewhat afterthoughts in a way because they came after the "story" ended for the most part, but I remember those 2 at least having some difficulty to them, at least in terms of Poke difficulty.

And if you don't have a Gabite/ground type? I remember last time I played if you messed around and let one of his mons get off a couple Charge Beams, it could get more dicey.
