LGPE just being LGPE, USUM being not living up to the expectations of 3rd Versions, SM being a shit start to a generation, ORAS being inferior to Emerald, XY being an underwhelming start to a generation, BW for not having the old Pokemon Pre-Post Game or its plot (or both).

I'm sure HGSS and Platinum had their own ones too but I wouldn't know off the top of my head, although I don't think they were comparable to DP's slowness whatever they would've been.

kind of. the game isn't very linear so you can do most of it in any order you want, which leads to really inconsistent difficulty. most of the overworld is very large routes and dungeons with weaker trainers, so it's easy if you know where you're going. but then you get jumped by some of the hardest bosses in the entire series, culminating in Red with a level 80+ team at the top of mt silver

I don't remember too much of it, but gen 3 was a huge impact, to put it in words, it was like gen 5 but more extreme, too many changes, people said it wasn't pokemon anymore and so.
When gen five released 2 sencond versions of black/white instead of just one, it was also like the dlc thing of today's, but a little milder.
The damn fairy type and the vane of dragons, and the whole alpha ruby/omega sapphire stuff (the fuckin' battle frontier) on gen 6.

Biggest shitshow in all of Pokemon before dexit was LGPE and before that it was USUM and SM, and ORAS, and XY and then the one before that was Ranger Net not allowing more than one Manaphy egg per fucking cartridge and before that it was the old sea map not coming outside of Japan and before that was the inability to transfer Gens 1 and 2 mons into Gen 3.
