>>42516283As someone who wants the natdex back and always will, I agree alot with this post. Being flat out mad over one pokemon is truly ridiculous, but for me it's bigger than that. It isn't that I "suddenly have standards," it's just that I view this is the final straw for me. That they have been lazy this whole time, but this takes the cake.
Yes, i can reason with you and understand that asking for 1000+ models, animations, ect ect is a lot. But Pokemon's entire "thing" has been orbiting around the fact that theres alot there. I know "Gotta catch em all" died a while back, but I just cannot accept that this whole thing started out as "there's so many creatures to discover!" to "there's too many creatures to include." The whole gimmick started off with there being alot, but now I'm supposed to accept that there's too much?
And then there's the fact that Gamefreak can't be expected to "animate" them all. They barely animate what's there. There is no improvement. We live in a timeline where more pokemon being made means less pokemon in each game, with ZERO visual upgrades. It's a total net loss. Looking at games like Red Dead Redemption 2, animal animations are amazing in that game. I'm not holding Gamefreak to that standard, not even close in fact. But imagine if they gave EVERY pokemon the same treatment. It wouldnt be expected, but it would be soulful. Sure, we can live without seeing Dunsparce crawling on cave walls, but wouldnt we rather see it?
Idk, outside of edgy /vp/, I'd like to think Gamefreak doesnt deserve ALL of the backlash. But at the end of the day, it isnt about 1 pokemon, or even a handful. It's that they CAN animate and include them all, but it's easier not to. They have the money to do so, but they won't. And I dont blame "fake fans" for buying the games, because at the end of the day, it doesnt matter
