How many people are even still upset anymore?
The people that already liked the game are satisfied by default, and the people mad about the dex are disappearing since Gamefreak is now patching them in for free
Hell, even this board hardly has any complaint threads anymore, and the majority of the ones here are about the DLC

I think DLC was always coming due to the fact that their workload has tripled due to the Switch being a console. They're not making an entirely new game with the DLC and probably has a small team working on them, leaving the others on Gen 9.

If the sales are really as large as they're saying they had to come from somewhere because it's definitely lacking in the digital sales department, unable to beat Minecraft most of the time which finds it hard selling 20K a week total.

And in North America they're now sitting at 9 and 20, barely even in the top 10.

The ESHOP counts any download as a sale, so an evergreen mostly digital-only title like Minecraft or Fortnite will naturally chart highly compared to everyone else, and an annual number compared to "45 days' number will always be greatly disfavored.

Furthermore all Sword and Shield sales are counted as separatate numbers, so "9 and 20 separately" is more like "5 or 6 together".
