There's a very similar thing going on with WWE and AEW. WWE (GF) has been shit for a long time, but there's been no real competition. Sure, indy versions exist, but they don't have the financial backing required to compete. WWE (GF) being as shit as it is has seen disgruntled, annoyed fans, to the point they wish WWE (GF) dead.
Here comes AEW (Temtem) with massive support from it's fans and with a different styled product but still being wrestling (Monster catching/raising) that instead of enjoying or watching both, it breed trivalism that one can only exist, or the other should kill the other. GameFreak is experiencing the same thing, people want GF dead in exchange for another Monster Catching series. I don't like Temtem but I don't want GF to die off, I want GF to be better. Both can exist, GF covering the single player and Temtem covering the MMO, but saying I want Temtem or Pokemon to die because the games aren't for me is retarded. Options and choice are always important and we need something like Temtem but with GameFreak still existing.
