Masuda also said that they're "making sure we can keep everything balanced and give all the Pokemon that appear in the games a chance to shine" as an excuse for cutting the dex, even though Excadrill, Trannypult and Whimsicott are on every single VGC team, plus the fact that Lando-T out of all the mons they could have brought back is coming through the packs.
It literally does not matter what Gamefreak says anymore. They lie frequently. We'll just have to wait and see what they do if we want actual confirmation.

That's why - the company decided to limit the number of pokémon they work on for new games going forward, to make the dev process run smoother. It's why each DLC is only adding 100 more - they're not going back on Dexit completely, but at the same point, with the Galarian forms and the planned raid den exploration, it's also obvious they wanted this to be a surprise for everyone. Too bad autism can't handle the real world and had to keep sperging about "muh shitmons" - now that the DLC's been revealed, we got retards crying "gaem Fraek leid11", when their hand was forced, they weren't ready to reveal the DLC nor their plans for adding new pokémon (as a free update mind).

I think they’re officially gonna go back on the rotating cast thing, since they are already doing it for the DLC. Rotating cast is gonna be harder to justify as they bring more models onto the Switch, as they’ve proven in the past they aren’t above reusing assets. I’d put my money on Gen 10 or 11 having a full dex, but you need home or something to get all the Pokemon so the region itself can have some variety.

You either have to pay for the DLC to get the mons yourself, have someone else get the DLC to trade you missing the mons, or pay an annual fee for Home in order to transfer mons back in, so no, it's not a "free update".

You're also being a deceptive shit, given Sugi said that 10 years ago during BW interviews - obviously they weren't going to do DLC on the DS/3DS. I always said it would take months, depending on how fucked Game Freak made it. They're easy to fit in, and they basically completely got Let's Go Pokemon working because it's basically the same engine, but for 3DS only Pokemon the models needed converted, the textures needed updated, and I was right that animations would most likely be the biggest problem. I have a feeling that the first DLC and the mod will come out about the same time, unless interest takes a nose dive (it probably will until summer) but I still expect the modders to get all the Pokemon in before Game Freak simply because they don't have to do anything else in the mean time.

It's a ridiculous argument because in the real world there will be someone that will buy the expansion or Home for reasons that transcend the mons themselves (i.e. wanting to try the new storyline or being attached to a particular specimen). Even if a number as ridiculously low as 5% of the total install base buys the DLC or Home, the returning mons will spread like wildfire through surprise trade, online forums and injection .
