It's actually imposible to make a 3D pokemon game with many regions? I never thought pokemon maps were particularly big

They should make a single game containing all of the japanese regions (kanto, johto, hoenn, sinnoh) and fill in the gaps. We can pretend nu-Pokemon (gen 5-8) never happened

it is hard to translate grids to open world 3D, the scale is not the same and it requires less abstraction
but you are assuming those "3 houses cities" should be actual cities, look at SWSH, most settlements are 2-3 houses cities and tons of buildings you can't access, it would be the same.

I mean it makes perfect sense. Japan is gamefreak's home and thus they don't view it through a tourist's eyes and can flesh out every little corner. With the non-japan regions gamefreak views them with the eyes of tourists and packs the entire region's culture into one small map.

Why do the full-on-retards always include the Orange Islands in their wrong maps? It's like a hallmark that the map is wrong.
Pic related is one of the better ones, but I'm pretty sure that the islands to the SW of Japan are what the Sevii Islands are, not off to the SE.

Last time i checked, extreme deep sea diving to enter a secluded city that isn't accessible by walking or swimming, isn't very touristy. Also hiking across a blizzard storm isn't touristy either. Both routes have warning descriptions of this.

No one's denying that hoenn or sinnoh isn't touristy. You're playing the game through the viewpoint of the ingame player who have yet to experience the world. They way hoenn and sinnoh executed this is far better than unova or alola who's terrains are mishmashed together and landmarks more undistinguishable to the real life.
