May is just straight up better than Brendan, every male protag in gens 4-6 has been a template wearing a similar getup (blue coat with a red hat) with Hilbert being the only standout and Gen 8's male just fucking sucks
literally all it took was changing the blue coat/red hat getup to make Sun/Moon's boys popular

May and Dawn were really cool, but I think what cemented my preference for pokegirls was BW1. I like Hilbert, but Hilda was too much best girl to not play as her instead. As far as I care, pokegirls will forever be treated as the one true canon outside of Red and Gold.
