Which one was your starter?
Pre-release everyone here was Rillaboom.

Scorbunny because it looks like it would actually be fun to train if Pokémon were real. Especially as a starter bro. Raboot is my favorite mid evo starter in a couple gens as well. Also G-Max Cinderace is cool.

People only were on the Grookey train as they thought the /vp/ meme of grass waifu was real (despite Affleck telling them all about the giant gorilla it tuned into). When it was revealed, all the waifufags fucked off for the gay lizard or the qt bunny.
I decided to pick Scorbunny from the reveal, partially due to not liking either other choice, partially as with one exception, I've picked the Fire starter in every Generation initially.

I don't think any of the third stage starters this gen are overly popular. Personally, twink rabbit has grown on me a bit since release, but I don't feel particularly strongly about any of them besides intelleon, which is way to anthropomorphic in my opinion.

Ever since Galar starters got revealed it was either Grookey or Scorbunny for me, I didn't really like Sobble much. In the end I chose Scorbunny just because it's more powerful and it's basically the easy mode for SWSH since I want to finish the game as fast as I can. Grookey is still cool though.
